GENERAL NOTES:
(a) CAUTION: The use of short length set screws listed in this Table can result in failure of the socket, ket, or mating threads during tightening because key engagement and thread length are less than optimum. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that screws of lengths equal to or greater than the lengths specified in columns B and B1 of Table 5A be used wherever possible.
(b) See Table 5A, and the illustrations and notes thereto, for additional dimensions and specifications.
NOTES:
(1) Cup angle may be 118 deg or 130 deg, +5 deg, depending
upon screw length and manufacturing process.
(2) Cone point angle for these lengths shall be 90 deg; see column Y in Table 5A.
(3) These sizes are impractical to manufacture because of point configuration and short
length.
(4) These screws are covered in Table 5A.
